Assembly Instructions

Inspect the Body of the Scale:
Ensure the main body of the scale is free from damage and clean.

Prepare the Components:

  • Gather the plastic sides (small and large), thumb screws, Z-axis, cap, and wrench tool.
  • If needed, pre-adjust the height of the Z-axis using the thumb screws before installation.

Adjust the Cable:
Ensure the cable is straight and free from any twists or knots.

Install the Large Plastic Side:
Locate the slit next to the laser sensor and the middle slit of the small plastic side.
Slide the large plastic side into these slits.
Secure the large plastic side with thumb screws.

Install the Z-Axis:
Carefully place the Z-axis into its designated position.
Avoid bending or folding the cable during this process.
Feed the cable through the designated hole.
Push down the Z-axis into place.
Secure the Z-axis with three thumb screws on the bottom and the sides on top.

Slowly adjust the z-axis cable trough the hole and attach the metal part to the bottom square following the lines in the image

Close the Cable Hole:
Use the cap with wrench tool to close the cable hole ensuring it is tightly sealed.

Extendable Z-axis

Secure the extendable Z-axis with thumb screws when adjusting its height, ensure the cable is properly secured inside the axis, and regularly check for signs of wear or tear.

Preparation: ensure the area around the Z-axis is clear of obstructions.
Loosening Thumb Screws: Locate the thumb screws on the extendable Z-axis.
Turn the thumb screws counterclockwise to loosen them. Do not remove them completely; loosen them enough to allow movement.

Adjusting Height: Carefully extend or retract the Z-axis to the desired height.
Use slow and steady movements to avoid any jerking that could strain the mechanism or cable.

Securing the Z-Axis: Once at the desired height, tighten the thumb screws by turning them clockwise. Ensure the thumb screws are securely tightened to prevent any unwanted movement.

Cable Management:
Securing the Cable Inside the Axis: Locate the cable channel within the Z-axis.
Gently feed the cable into the channel, ensuring it is straight and not twisted.
Make sure the cable does not get pinched or strained when the Z-axis is moved up or down.

Regular Inspections:
Regularly check the thumb screws to ensure they remain tight during operation.
Periodically inspect the cable for any signs of damage or wear.
Ensure the cable is properly secured within the Z-axis to prevent movement and wear.

Smooth Operation:
Always adjust the Z-axis with smooth, controlled movements to reduce stress on the mechanism and cable.
Avoid applying excessive force when moving the Z-axis up or down.

By following this guide, you can ensure the safe and efficient operation of the extendable Z-axis while maintaining the integrity of the cable and preventing damage. Regular maintenance and careful handling are key to prolonging the lifespan of the equipment.

Always calibrate the scale after moving the axis.

How to Level the 4D Scale

Level the “4D Scale” using its six adjustable feet with the help of the spirit level.

Tools Needed:
Spirit level

  1. Adjust the Legs: Initial Setup: Place the “4D Scale” on a flat, stable surface. Ensure the scale is free from any obstructions or debris underneath.
  2. Position the Level: Place the level on the center of the scale platform.
  3. Adjust the Four Big Legs: Locate the four big legs of the scale.
  4. Begin with the two front legs. Adjust them by turning clockwise to lower or counterclockwise to raise.
  5. Observe the bubble in the level. Aim to center the bubble between the two front legs.
  6. Move to the two back legs and adjust them similarly, ensuring the bubble in the level remains centered.

Adjust the Z-Axis Leg:

Once the four big legs are adjusted, focus on the Z-axis.

  • Adjust the Z-axis by turning the corresponding feet until the bubble in the level is perfectly centered.
  • This ensures that the scale is level both front-to-back and side-to-side.

Adjust the Front Leg:

  • Recheck the front legs to ensure they are at the same height as the Z-axis adjustment.
  • Make minor adjustments to the front legs if necessary to maintain the centered bubble.

Final Check:

  • After adjusting all six feet, perform a final check with the level.
  • Place the level in various positions on the scale platform (front, back, left, right, and center) to confirm it is uniformly leveled.

Secure the Adjustments:

  • Once the scale is leveled, ensure all feet are firmly in place.
  • Double-check that the scale does not wobble and is stable.

Tips:

  • Make small adjustments gradually to avoid overcompensating.
  • Regularly check the level during the adjustment process to ensure accuracy.
  • If the scale is frequently moved, repeat the leveling process at the new location.

Connecting an External Screen to the 4D Scale

To connect an external screen to the 4D Scale, first ensure the scale is turned off before making any connections.

Option 1: Optional External Touch Screen

  • Open both rubber flaps on the side of the scale.
  • Connect the USB cable to enable touch functionality, plug in the HDMI cable, and connect the power adapter if provided with the screen.
  • Turn on the scale; the loading screen will appear, and upon loading the user interface, you can interact with the software using the touch screen directly.

Option 2: Regular Screen with External Mouse and optional Keyboard

  • Open both rubber flaps on the side of the scale.
  • Plug the HDMI cable into the HDMI port and connect a mouse via a USB hub to the USB-A port. You can additionally connect a keyboard.
  • Turn on the scale; you should see the loading screen, and once the user interface appears, you can interact with the software using the mouse and keyboard.

Ensure all connections are secure and only power on the scale after connecting the screens and peripherals.
