Overview
Device Logs let support teams and administrators see exactly what’s been happening on a 4DScale device. Filters help you zero in on the right time period or event, and the list stays snappy even with thousands of entries.
This article is useful when you’re troubleshooting a device, checking recent activity, or gathering details for Seller Hardware Support.
Open Device Logs
To view logs for a device:
- Open the 4DScale web app.
- Log in with an account that has access to the device.
- Select the target device.
- Open Device Logs.
- Browse the log entries.
The log list is built for large result sets, so you can scroll through plenty of entries without waiting for everything to load at once.
Filter Device Logs
To narrow things down:
- Open Device Logs.
- Open the filters panel.
- Pick the date range or other available filter values.
- Apply the filter.
- Review the updated list.
Filters are your friend when you roughly know when the issue happened.
What to Capture for Support
When you reach out to support, include:
- The device serial number.
- The date and time of the issue.
- A screenshot or copied text from the relevant log entries.
- What workflow was running when the issue occurred.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Description | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No logs appear | The filter may be too narrow, or the device may not have recent activity | Clear the filters or widen the date range |
| Logs take time to appear | A large result set may still be loading | Give the list a moment to refresh, then scroll again |
| The issue is hard to find | The time period may be too broad | Filter down to the smallest date range you know |
